Question 1: How does Guru's unlock work? Does it just make up for the shortfall from lack of optimal training?
Problem with that: Doesn't make sense for this to be the primary power unlock mechanism, as Krillin was extremely well-trained already, so there wasn't much poor training to explain Guru's huge power unlock. Ok, he may have taken his foot off the gas in the 5 years between DB and Z (he was at Roshi's so maybe training, but he'd not met Gohan so probably hadn't trained with Goku, unless Goku was too dense to mention having a son lol) and he only did image training with Gohan in the ≈six weeks between fighting Vegeta and reaching Namek. But going from low thousands to 100K+ is absurdly huge, since if it's making up for 5 years of poor training between DB and Z, it's equivalent to 20,000PL per year - neither the humans nor Goku ever came close to that increase, even training with at Kami's or with King Kai. Was Krillin's training really so poor he had so much untouched potential? Even if it's based on 20 years of inefficient training (Krillin was ≈24yo), it's 5000PL year, which is still a huge amount.
Question 2: Also, if it's just unlocking lack of ki gains due to subpar training, does training make any difference to potential unlocks? Gohan had a huge potential unlock from Elder Kaioshin - would Mystic Gohan be any stronger if Gohan had been training properly between Cell and Buu? Or would his Mystic power up still have given the same final result?
Question 3: What's the difference in mechanism between Guru and Elder Kaioshin's unlock? Elder Kaioshin's takes longer, despite him being one of the most powerful and knowledgeable beings ever, so presumably he unlocks more power, but how? Or does it actually take longer, or is it just that Guru's unlock begins immediately but doesn't fully unlock for some hours, and Kaioshin's unlocks it all in one go?
