Impatient is a better way to describe Shenron, which leads to the following question:

Why is he always in a hurry?

Namekians probably aren't impatient like humans, which Kami and Shenron would've likely been somewhat influenced by.

Maybe there really is a Shenron realm akin to what Nozawa described in interviews about GT's ending and Shenron goes there to relax, making using the Dragon Balls akin to an annoying neighbour disturbing him on his weekend.

Kami was perhaps influenced by that, but why Shenron? He's never lived among them, and only pops up on Earth for wish-granting.

I guess it's because of the negative energy. While Porunga is pure and untainted, Shenron on the other hand probably have some negative energy in him.

I assume due to creating him and not really being implied to have done so at an early age, it's possible the dragon would take on the traits of it's creator to some extent.

Alternatively, it may be due to the vast decrease in time between wish granting. Up until the start of the series, it seemed using the Dragon Balls rarely ever happened if even more than once in several centuries, only to become an annual tradition not long after. By comparison, Porunga wasn't confirmed to have been used more than perhaps once prior to the Freeza Arc or maybe several times overall considering how the Namekians' wish granting was known by both Vegeta and Beerus whilst not being common knowledge and the next time he was used after the Freeza Arc was 11 years later.

That's possible. Though I'd argue that Shenron's impatience is a product of his role. He has to live with the possibility of being summoned at random points of time to deal with requests of strangers or beings that he barely recognises. Totally understandable to get fed up of such a recurrence, especially if you're busy with something else, which Shenron seems to be when he shows up.

That's a fair assessment. Connects to what I said above. What's interesting is that, even in the face of Beerus (who Shenron highly respects), Shenron was still in a rush to return to where he came from (after he was called upon for the Super Saiyan God matter). Kinda makes you wonder what else Shenron gets up to. I know about what Nozawa said in the interview that you mentioned; read it a long time ago in the GT-related tidbits section of Kanzenshuu. Whilst it's a nice piece of information, it's still vague in the context of Shenron's activities outside of carrying out wishes in the Mortal Universe.
