Here is the dialogue from when Kibitoshin was explaining the whole Boo thing to Elder Kaioshin:

Elder Kaioshin: What do you mean...?

Kibitoshin: In my era, there were five Kaioshins...Until we were defeated by the Majin Boo created by Bibidi... I was the youngest and weakest, but I somehow survived, with severe injuries... First, two were killed... The Kaioshins of the North and West... And then the strongest, most powerful, the Kaioshin of the South, was absorbed by Boo...

Elder Kaioshin: So that's how he became that big Majin Boo from earlier, huh?

Kibitoshin : ...Yes... The next one to be absorbed was the kind and gentle Dai Kaioshin... The Majin Boo created by Bibidi was pure evil and an uncontrollable failure even for Bibidi himself, but by absorbing the Dai Kaioshin, he became more manageable/controllable...

Elder Kaioshin: ...So that's how he was completed... That means... That small Majin Boo is the original, the most troublesome one...

Kibitoshin : ...Yes... The heart that he gained through absorption, even at the cost of reducing his power, has reverted back... He's once again a being of pure evil with no self-control...

Kibitoshin made no distinction between Buff Boo and Kid Boo, the thing separating the "pure evil and an uncontrollable failure even for Bibidi" was the absorption of the Dai Kaioshin... Wouldn't that mean, since Dai Kaioshin was what changed Boo from pure evil and uncontrollable, that Buff Boo should be the most dangerous due to his supposed huge gap over kid Boo? It's weird because it seems like Kibitoshin made no distinction between Buff Boo and Kid Boo as the only starking separation being Dai Kaioshin's absorption.

It’s still implied in the quote that he gained some level of heart by absorbing South Kaioshin.

Buff Boo might have had reasoning abilities similar to Super Boo

Maybe he was less chaotic because he seemed focused on the Kaioshin as Huge Buu.

What about when Kibitoshin said "the heart he gained through absorption, even at the cost of reducing his power, has reverted back". Buff Boo was the one who got the heart since he was the Boo who absorbed Dai Kaioshin... Doesn't it seem like Buff and Kid are being portrayed as the same here? Dunno, some member brought it on neo and I found it interesting point. Or "the Boo created by Bibidi was pure evil and uncontrollable, but after. absorbing Dai..." ... Seems like treating Buff Boo and Kid in same ways as just the Boo before Dai weakened him, no?

He's only said to have gained a heart after absorbing Grand Kaioshin.

But it's just a badly written mess and we'll never know the answer.

By "Buff Boo was the one who got the heart" I mean he didn't have one and thus he (not kid Boo) got a heart. So he was said to be heartless, pure evil before absorbing Dai Kaioshin... But then it's said that he now reverted to the most troublesome Boo. Wouldn't Buff be the most troublesome since it was only after Dai Kaioshin that it changed from pure evil Boo to one who got a heart?

Because it says his heart was gained through absorption in general. While it does specify that Dai Kaioshin is what lowered his power, it doesn't have to mean that he only gained heart from Dai Kaioshin. If he gained physical attributes from South Kaioshin, why would his brain not be affected too?

Kid buu and huge buu were pretty much implied to be the same personality- wise:

He was equally uncontrollable while being both kid and buff buu, buu when absorbing dai kaioshin is what radically changed him. So there's nothing that justifies that buff buu has rationality when he is implied to be equally chaotic as the original buu, maybe toriyama would've went more on detail about all of this and we could make proper conclusions

But gaining a heart is what reduced Boo’s power, and South didn’t reduce his power.
