and if so, which version?

I personally prefer Zacian, so I'll be getting Sword. I guess it really depends on version exclusives though.

I was disappointed with Generation 7 and don't own a switch, so probably not.

After the whole "No Non-Galar Pokemon" controversy and seeing how disappointing the graphics have been compared to other Nintendo open world titles of the past few years (Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, etc.) my interest has waned pretty significantly, not to mention certain Pokemon only being available through Dynamax raid missions that require an additional subscription are another cheap marketing method. The first matter wouldn't have even been that bad if not for the fact that transferring Non-Galar Pokemon from Pokemon Bank to the Gen 8 compatible version of it will make them perpetually stuck in virtual limbo.

If I do get it at all, I'll be in far from a rush in doing so.

I'll probably get it, but I haven't looked into the game at all yet. If it looks bad then I doubt I'll buy it.

I think it looks alright. The national dex stuff doesn't really bother me since I'd rather play with the new mons anyway. The graphics aren't on par with top tier Nintendo like CC said, but I'd imagine this game isn't the full extent of their powa. Stay tuned for Dusty Diamond and Purple Pearl in 2020. :et

I wouldn't really be bothered by the no national dex feature if not for 2 things:

1. It's been a staple of all Gens since Gen 4 that transferring all your Pokemon from the previous game was possible. Even when Black and White forced you to start and learn with all new Pokemon, they still added transfers as post-game material.

2. The way in which the new online storage system works in nonsensical. If you transfer a Pokemon from there from Pokemon Bank and it's not part of Gen 8's dex, then it's stuck there until a new game adds it to its dex, which is a huge design flaw if unaware of the full Galar Pokedex and you happened to transfer a Pokemon you like using to it such as say, a Legendary.

Seeing as how my best friend is gonna buy a Switch for this game (and the upcoming Fire Emblem) I suppose I will be getting it, yes. Not sure which version, I'll confer with my friend on that.
