Would it be better if Semi Cell stayed longer?

Yes and no. We all have to admit his existence was the equivalent of Frieza's third form, simply to waste our time.

I kind of liked the idea of cell being completely overwhelmed by vegeta.

I hated 2nd Stage Cell. He was pointless other than to exploit the Grade forms. I could've done without that whole section, although the Final Flash was greatly epic.

I think he stayed in his Semi-Perfect Form for a good amount of time, I don't know exactly what else he could've done in his Semi-Perfect he:

- Showed off his new speed and tanked 16's punch before cooking half of his head
- Survived an onslaught of Tri-Beams from Tien
- Destroyed a slew of islands searching for 18
- Fought Vegeta

He already got Piccolo out of the way prior to absorbing 17, so I don't think there's a whole lot he could've done. I don't mind Vegeta beating up Cell. It think that was the best course of action for the story, Vegeta slaps around Semi-Perfect Cell than Cell returns the favor after absorbing 18.

I would have liked to see him fight SSJ Vegeta at first. He'd fight evenly before powering up to his full power. Vegeta would mock him and then transform, and the manga battle would commence.

I think we got to see enough of him as far as feats and personality goes. Unless he utilised his energy absorption to make the conflict interesting, any more would just feel like filler.

I would've liked seeing him disappear and hide, to absorb more people then go back to finish off Vegeta, or at least take him on, since we know he's more than skilled enough to beat him, if both were equally as powerful.
