Is there anything that says he increased or trained? Is there any time gap mentioned between the events of the 21st TB and Baba's tournament mentioned in the manga?

There isn't really a specific time gap. But Yamaha says that he's been getting tired of the city life and Bulma's mom says he's been going to school or some shit, so I doubt that he trained. I'd just have them about the same strength.

if u want to go by his fight against mummy-kun then it might be implied

since master-roshi seemed to have an easier time against yamcha, than even mummy-kun

but mummy-kun was implied to be trouble to 21st Tenkaichi-Budokai Goku who was abt even with Master-Roshi

Mummy-kun's power is infinite, he's obviously taking it easy on failcha

Baba arc is 6 days after 21st TB and Yamcha is not like Saiyans; he can't increase his power by chasing a cat for
3 days or swinging a sword for one day. Baba arc Yamcha is the same as his 21st TB self.

I wouldn't really say Master Roshi had an easier time. Yamcha vs Chun was just shorter because Mummy Man wanted to have some fun after being trapped in a tomb stone for who knows how long.

-Second day after 21st TB, he has the mini saga with Krillin/Bulma at the pirates' cave
-Trains for 3 days with Korin
-Baba Saga

Yamcha is the same in the Uranai Baba Saga as he was in the 21st Budokai so.... stalemate.
