Krillin is much more of a joke than him.

How? Yamcha has had a total of one victory in all of Dragon Ball; every other battle he was in, he lost miserably. His death to the Saibaman was so pathetic that even Super and Budokai 3 made a meme out of it. Krillin at least holds the title of being the strongest male Earthling and managed to stay somewhat relevant in the later portion of the Namek arc.

At least Kuririn can make it past the quarter finals of a Budokai tournament, at least Kuririn actually fights Nappa and Vegeta, at least Kuririn has a technique that can kill anyone (without regen) regardless of power level, at least Kuririn has a super hot wife and loving family while Yamcha is a lonely peasant who fucks a cat because Bulma realized what a loser he was and left him for the guy who killed half the Z-Fighters, including him.
