Was he ever canonically a baseball player? I forgot if he was, all I remember was the anime scene where he's playing on a baseball team to make some zeni. Lol

It was Toriyama's idea for Yamcha being a baseball player, so I guess it is canon. I have no problem with it.

This is yet another thing mentioned as being Toriyama’s idea in the Dragon Ball Z Anime Special, which first appeared in Dragon Ball Z episode 10. After getting into a fight with Bulma, Yamcha leaves West City and becomes a baseball player. A caption says that in the memo regarding this, Toriyama wrote out Yamcha’s feelings in great detail… but unfortunately does not elaborate any further.

Yeah he was never a baseball player outside of filler, but Super itself has filler and references to Z filler so I guess it don't matter lol.

There's also that Krillin liking to sing thing from movie 8 which got incorporated into manga canon seemingly due to it entering his biography in the SEG
