What are your expectations for this movie. What do you think it will be about. Will Atem return? Also it seems like we are getting a legit Yugi vs Kaiba

I don't see Atem returning at all. That'd take away from the selling point of Yugi doing this by himself. I hope that there's a lot of character interactions and build-up prior to the duel, rather than just having 2 hours of card games.

I grew up with the original YuGiOh and after 4 other series where only 1 of them I can say I actually liked I wasn't really hyped up for another movie. A teaser trailer really won't do much for me. I need to see more than just Yugi, Kaiba, and the others. I'm sure Yami Yugi won't be in this (outside of a possible flashback maybe) but we get to see Yugi on his own now and see if his decks improved. Is he using the standard cards of his deck, is he using the deck he beat Atem with? Or a mix of the two?
Although I will say if Yami Yugi isn't in this it wouldn't really feel the same. He was basically the real main protagonist of the original series and if it gets dubbed it wouldn't be Yu-Gi-Oh! if Dan Green didn't provide that voice I wish I had.

Part of me wants them to use prototypes of Synchros, but part of me hates the idea of mixing the old series with the newer technology. It feels disgusting, not to mention it makes the total absence of such in GX rather glaring.
I want a true Yugi and Kaiba duel. No destiny mission for Yugi, no Shadow Games, no influence from outside sources. One on one like Battle City, but no plot armor for Yugi. That would satisfy me to no end, even if Yugi won.
I also want Atem back, but more I don't. It's time to see a grown up Yugi, which was only seen maybe twice in GX.

I don't think Atem is necessary. Yugi already showed he is the better duelist.
