Oh yeh man, I'm certainly enjoying it a lot. I've been reminded of how much of a villain Vegeta was and I'm interested to see how that starts to fade and when he becomes more of a Z fighter. On Namek he lets Krillin and Bulma live because he's in a good mood.
Related to that, something I've taken note of quite a bit is how much Goku and Vegeta's fight with each other is mentioned by the both of them afterwards. Goku repeatedly comments on how he has to get stronger because of Vegeta, but on top of that also says that his fight with Vegeta "wasn't for nothing", since he's getting stronger quickly in his training afterwards. On Namek, Vegeta tells Cui, Dodoria and Zarbon that he's a lot stronger due to almost dying in battle on Earth - they both really appreciate their fight with each other. I know AT has claimed that he only planned Dragon Ball one week in advance, but obviously that's not totally true (since he knew Goku would be a saiyan as early as Kami's introduction) and you can see as early as the Vegeta vs Cui that he probably planned for Goku and Vegeta to have an important relationship with one another.
The soundtrack placement has improved immensely now that it's onto a more serious arc. Holy shit, Namek is a thrill. It's totally manic: Krillin, Gohan, Zarbon and Vegeta all rushing around on this planet without knowing who else is there or what their motives are.
I'm watching the sub. When I watched DB and Z it was the Funimation dub until the episode where Buu heals the blind kid, at which point I began watching in spanish japanese.
I've been downloading the movies and skipped through Fusion Reborn (movie 12) today. Noticed that Funimation used some Dream Theatre in their History of Trunks soundtrack, when 17 is destroying stuff. I might watch the movies in English eventually, because at least in movie 12, King Kai is funnier than in Japanese.
