Can Tien really blow away a blast above that? I don’t see him deflecting a Cell Games Kamehameha. Maybe Super Vegeta’s Final Flash.

I think deflecting a blast is much easier than taking it head on.

side, or an opposing direction from
where it’s being shot from usually
cancels it out in DB weirdly.

Sure, Piccolo himself deflects Gohan’s blast when Freeza bounces it back, but there’s a limit.

We see that limit in the Buu Saga. Where Goku and Vegeta agree they can't bounce back a second blast from Kid Buu.

I think you can be like 50% or so to deflect it though, it's probably not that big of a deal.
