Why Is The Frieza Race/Clan Named After Frieza And Not Cold?

Why are we not referring to the Frieza clan/race as the Cold clan/race? Why is it derived after Frieza, if he's not the original?

Because Cold is a background character that existed to make Trunks look good

Because Freeza's the one we know. Cold's generation would've called it Cold race. Before him was his mother, Queen vapor-compression cycle, and her contemporaries called it the vapor-compression race. And then there was his grandfather, King Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS.

I haven't seen that term before, and I don't recall hearing it either. Do you have a link of the Funi dub where the term was used?
