I'm confused when their max Ki attack is the exact power level as them but it does greater damage than their punch.

Also at the same time they can tank their own attack.

Are you talking about the KKx20 Kamehameha?

Ki blasts are far more destructive than punches. Nappa’s hand was swollen significantly by Gohan’s Masenko which was most likely not stronger than Nappa at the time.
