Did any character other than Gohan, his teachers and classmates ever read a book?

I thought this thread was made by Nila & was going to be a member of “did [anyone] ever/how many times” series.

I thought about that

How many times did characters read a book?

Guldo is a four eyes, he probably reads and plays too many video games, sitting close to the TV.

Roshi read to Goku and Krillin during the study portion of their Turtle School training.

That's my friend's elderly neighbour's name. Wonder if she's still alive, I've not been there for about 7 months.

Can the Ginyu Force read? Can Kaioshin read?

Kami's ship had writing on board, so some Namekians could read. But a whole book? They don't even have paper. Do they have an epic poem on stone tablets?

Goku was the one who read about “Margaret”.
During the snippet that we saw, yes. Roshi used it as a teaching tool; given that Goku appeared to be struggling, it seems logical for Roshi to have demonstrated how it would be done more accurately, which would explain why he had a book in his hand along with the boys. Poor Goku if he was left to his own devices the whole time.

They learnt science from 30 second long youtube shorts. Dr Briefs watched youtube shorts 14 hours a day for 20 years straight.
