Was it ever stated as to how the color for the Kamehameha was determined?

It doesn't have an official color in the original manga. Toriyama only made it white in full colored illustrations.

The anime has made some decisions better than Toriyama. A yellow aura for Super Saiyan is goated. Blue Kamehamhea goated. Shin and Kibito coloring, goated.
