Was Krillin really that much weaker than Tambourine?

If he hadn't been caught by surprise, how much better does he do? Does it become a long fight? Does he dodge some attacks? Does he take some hits without dying? Does he take or block some hits without going down? Does he land some hits? Does he hurt Tambourine?

Do they show how Tambourine killed Kuririn in the manga? I know in the anime he definitely wasn't caught by surprise as he actually attacked Tambo first and Tambo killed by jumping on his head.

Regardless though Tambourine said he didn't even mean to kill Kuririn so I doubt it really mattered if he was "caught by surprise".

I think Tambourine would've stomped him either way, plus the announcer didn't seem to know Kuririn had been killed until Goku pointed it out. Seems like it was a short exchange.

Wb that Krillin didn't know he was strong and was wearing a top hat? And hadn't eaten yet.

All evidence posts to Krillin getting completely washed. It took everything Goku had just to kill him while Krillin was handled with kid's gloves by the same Goku who wasn't using his full stremgth.

I think he was considerably weaker. Roshi said that Tambourine was strong enough to kill Kuririn, instead of focusing on a weakened Kuririn... So even if Tambourine couldn't have done that so quickly like he did, the apparent way he did it was enough for Roshi to conclude Tambourine was considerably above Kuririn anyways. How much is anyone's guess. Maybe as strong as Roshi... Or in the same realm.

Remember Goku using his full match level was enough for Roshi to conclude Goku "may" have surpassed him already... And Roshi was surprised about a battle level even existing, suggesting a considerable gap between full power Goku (22nd Budokai) and Roshi.

Like:

Kuririn/Yamcha : 100
Tsuru : 120
Roshi / Tambourine : 139
Full Match Level Goku : 145
Tenshinhan : 170
Goku (full power) : 180

----

Drum : 225
Old King Piccolo ( < 50%) : 280
— FP : 600
Young King Piccolo : 1,000

[That keeps the power gap between Drum and Tambourine roughly the same as the gap between young King Piccolo and old King Piccolo]
