Can 19 absorb ki? I think 19 would win either way tbh. He was able to take a barrage of attacks from Sick SSJ Goku who is far above Trunks. I doubt Trunks can beat him with physical attacks.

My knowledge about the series is rusty so far but I think the Androids are stronger than Yadrat Goku at least soni gotta give it to Android 19. Not to mention that Trunks isn't that smart and will likely use a huge amount of power to destroy Android 19 only for the former to absorb it.

If Trunks has knowledge of 19's absorption abilities then he could maybe pull off a win by cutting him up with his sword.

Without knowledge 19 absorbs Trunks' ki attacks and wins comfortably.

I'd say #19 is superior based on his durability feats. Regardless of which is stronger though, the OP not specifying that there'd be no energy absorption allows means #19 definitely takes it.

I don't disagree with your conclusion, but I wouldn't say this being Toriyama's original intent is a solid reasoning for it. What he originally planned doesn't really mean much compared to what he did, since he's went back on original plans several times before (Saiyans being the strongest warriors in the universe, Gohan becoming the main character, etc.) and even bothered to add conflicting evidence prior to the reveal (eg. Vegeta saying #19 and #20 weren't as scary as they'd been hyped up to be).
