20 wins pretty easily. After absorbing Vegeta's blast, by absorbing Piccolo and the rest of the fodder he would have been close enough to Vegeta to take him on. 19 would have needed a hell of a lot more than that.

Pretty rusty on this topic but wouldn't 19 be stronger? He fared better against SS Vegeta than 20 did against Piccolo.

Not really. Piccolo took #20 far more seriously than Vegeta was against #19, 19 gave Vegeta a bloody lip only because Vegeta let him do it. If Piccolo let 20 hit him square in the face than he would have got a lip bleed too.

Vegeta did let 19 absorb a ton of his energy, but 19 arguably didn't improve much if at all from it given he's not a infinite energy model.

Not really. Piccolo took #20 far more seriously than Vegeta was against #19, 19 gave Vegeta a bloody lip only because Vegeta let him do it. If Piccolo let 20 hit him square in the face than he would have got a lip bleed too.

The problem though is that this was nowhere stated.
