This doesn’t make any sense. Goku was stated to be in a hurry to finish the fight and his condition worsened after the Kamehameha. The Kamehameha is often a finishing move and in the early series characters avoided using it because it cost too much energy.

On the other hand, Vegeta’s blast was just bait. Completely expendable.
That's blatantly what is shown. It was a hastily made Kamehameha when Goku's stamina was already fairly depleted hence the sweating and panting prior to the blast. After the Kamehameha, Goku still managed to fight back before the virus crippled him further. The only thing your argument suggests is that it contains a lot of power but how does that translate to total energy.

I'm honestly not sure where the comparison between Vegeta's blast and Goku's Kamehameha came from. Android 20 already started off stronger than Android 19 so I don't really understand the point. The feats honestly speak for themselves here.

Vegeta is literally concerned with 20 absorbing that much energy, it isn't as generic as you think. Remember, generic blasts can have just as much power as named attacks.

Maybe so with Vegeta's blast, but with the Kamehameha you're just making shit up to go with your theory. Immediately after the Kamehameha Goku's power is noted to have gone down as 19's went up. The Kamehameha is the game changer that made everything go downhill.

The point is that 19 absorbed more energy than 20 and 20's only "feat" is hiding behind a rock. He does better than a 19 who's on the bottom of a bit, beaten up and armless. I agreed last page that the androids always had the mountains as a backup, but 19 was in no position to get there when he decided to run away.

That never happened though. He just mocks Piccolo for giving 20 free energy.

Sure, maybe that blast packs the power of a BBA, but why would it? Looking at the page, Vegeta just wanted to blow up the desert and is surprised to see Gero absorb the ball. Does SSJ Vegeta need his full power to level some mountains?

It's significant enough to where he is upset 20 absorbed it, which allowed him to significantly surpass 19, and allowed Gero to use his speed to escape from Vegeta.

That only requires Goku's Kamehameha to be more energy exhaustive than everything Goku was doing up until this point. That doesn't suggest that Goku's Kamehameha yielded a level of energy that would boost Android 19's by 50% nor does it really address that Goku's stamina was already depleting after wailing on Android 19. Using a Kamehameha would obviously exhaust him even further.

Regardless, Android 20's speed enabled him to intercept Vegeta's blast and escape his line of sight. That exceeded Vegeta's expectations of their speed which was predicated on Android 19's performance. Vegeta never expected Android 20 to escape let alone intercept his blast but he did. That clearly means Android 20 was much faster than Android 19 was.
