And the only one he treated worthy of needing BEUD against was Yami Yugi. In the end when he activated that card that made them discard their entire decks but 3 cards, both brought out their trump-cards/aces.

I'm not saying BEUD isn't stronger stat-wise. Even Kaiba says this in his duel with Yugi after the God Cards destroy themselves. But BEUD is a vanilla fusion while Obelisk has immunity to practically everything, hence why Kaiba's Battle City deck revolved around him while keeping the Blue-Eyes cards as a backup. Obelisk was more of a surefire win condition than BEWD/BEUD.

Fair-enough.

Fun fact: Kaiba has lost every duel the BEUD appeared in, excepting that time he threatened to kill himself to win cheaply and when he was the one destroying BEUD with Obelisk :ladd

That's because it's too powerful. It's the strongest monster in existence according to Yugi in Battle City...

How Yugi can say that with a straight face with Slifer in his deck and having seen Ra (albeit not merged with Marik) is beyond me.

Even if both have baseline ATK of 0 it's incredibly easy to defeat any incarnation of Blue-Eyes with those cards. In the anime it's even dumber due to Dragon Master Knight and FGD.

Yugi says a lot of shit that is later contradicted (or in this case contradicted from the start), like every time he's about to "lose" only to then confidently activate his reverse card that he planned to use all along. Fucking drama, mayn.
