As in Trunks wearing the costume? If it gave him the same disadvantage that he had against 18 then I'd give this to Piccolo. The Daizenshuu claims that 18 and the kids are equal for what it's worth, and Piccolo is a step above that.

Piccolo wins. 18 was confident in fighting the kids after they turned SSJ before Trunks blast so I'd say she was stronger than their base.

Also the Yo Son Goku and Friends special is canon and the base kids were shown having a bit of trouble with Abo and Cado.

Without costume: Trunks wins high diff, though Piccolo might be able to pull it off.

I think the only way this is a close fight is if it’s normal Trunks. Mighty Mask Trunks gets beaten by Piccolo pretty easily. I think Unweighted Piccolo vs Mighty Mask Trunks would be a Vegeta vs Zarbon beatdown.

If Yo Son Goku and Friends is canon than wouldn't Base Goten/Trunks get stomped? They had mild trouble with Abo and Cado.

Only because they were rusty. Once they got the gist of it again they stomper Abo and Cado pretty easily.
