When one blast is overpowered in a beam struggle, does it cushion the impact of the other blast, or does it do more damage because the person is being hit by two blasts?

I think the blast that gets overtaken doesn't hurt the opposing fighter, it's just the blast coming from the opposing side.

So when Goku's Kamehameha overwhelmed Vegeta's Gyarikku Ho, it was the equivalent of Vegeta just being hit by a KHH? You don't think the Galick Gun may have cushioned the impact?

Based on what we see with Goku's and Vegeta's beam struggle, I'd say the beam weakens.

You mean if the blast gets weaker? Yeah, that's possible especially by how long the beam-struggle was, and Goku was using Kaio-Ken so yeah the blast could have gotten weaker.

The loosing beam dies off. Like a loosing opponent. Thats how I picture it.
Notice how the loosing beam gets smaller and smaller while the winning one gets larger.

Skillz said it really. In a beam struggle I'd imagine the one who was overpowered is being hit soley by the opposing attack. Vegeta was launched into the atmosphere by the Kamehameha rather remnants of the Galick Gun.

The cushion thing makes sense, seeing as losing a beam struggle has never killed anybody other than Super Perfect Cell. But the more probable reason for that is plot shield.

Or maybe SPC's blast was weakened because of him being distracted, so the ''cushion'' wasn't so much. Also, KHH is implied to be crazily amplified
after Freeza Saga.
