Darkprince from MFG used to argue that when Good Boo, containing both the Kaioshins the original Boo absorbed, was removed, Dai Kaioshin's ki was removed first due to being the later absorption, resulting in the buff Boo with the South Kaioshin's influence before that too was sapped and the final result was Pure Boo. Somewhat similar to #18 being spat out when Cell was hit severely as she was the last one absorbed into him.

So Buu can't return to normal until his body goes through the opposite process?

The only thing I take from Good Boo's reappearance is that he's definitely above SSj2 Vegeta. I don't think he's close to Pure Boo at all. After initially being stunned by Good Boo's performance, Pure Boo started trolling with his feet.

Why is Kid Buu shocked at his attack and why is Good Buu able to land two hits?

Pure Boo is operating at the level he owned Vegeta, which is about the same level Good Boo happens to be on. When Pure Boo ups his level, he's too much for the other Boo.

Pure Boo (full power) > Pure Boo (more effort) ~ Good Boo >>> SSj2 Vegeta

Something like that works just fine.
