Nappa couldn't have been at the same level otherwise Gohan's attack wouldn't have stung his arm.
Ya know, regardless of what side you take based on logic, this topic and Nappa's PL and how divided and confusing each side can be just shows that DB had contradictions and inconsistencies long before Super, Super's are just worse, like AT literally said "FUCK IT!" and Toei and Toyotaro do what they can to fill in the rest.
ANYWAY, these two topics have contradicting facts to support either sides of each argument.
No, they couldn't, because it was stated that they couldn't. Vegeta's statement about them hiding their true ki from scouters. Vegeta on Namek making a big deal about learning it from them, etc...
VS.
Them clearly powering up in some way or another that is similar in nature but inferior to the ki control Goku and co. have. The statements about their flucuating power from the ol' sensh themselves, etc...
Nappa's PL
They were implied to not be able to suppress their ki like Goku and co., Gohan's attack stinging Nappa's arm at 2,800 or whatever it was, Goku tooling Nappa for 95% of the fight.
VS.
Nappa (and Vegeta) clearly powering up and comments made about them getting stronger, Nappa countering and clashing fists with Goku, Goku literally saying the fight would go on and on at their current rate, etc...
So we all pick sides, justify the shit out of those sides and call it a day. When really, none of this shit makes a lick of sense and we really just like it for the pretty explosions and macho bravado! Cause we all nerds...... Just like this man.
