Cell's Speed Against Gohan

I think it depends on how you interpret it. Instead of thinking of it as his speed level being brought up higher than his "strength" power level, it could be that his speed was suppressed below his "strength" level and he merely brings his speed up to match it.

I think "standard" power increases improve all stats equally, but special training or a talent in a particular field would improve stats in a certain area.

And what would be the reason Cell has his speed far below his power? That's indicated anywhere.

Cell believes the power he used against Goku is enough to defeat Gohan.

And he was clearly wrong since he couldn't make Gohan's Ki drop. It's called underestimation.

Gohan's Ki would not drop from a few blows. Cell makes it clear where he was wrong, which was speed.

Considering cell easily kicked a mad MSSJ Gohan away who you guys are saying is still stronger. There has to have been a slight modification in strength mainly putting attention to speed.

I don't see why not? How did Monster Zarbon make Vegeta's Ki drop?

It would come from the fact that Cell's power advantage over Gohan would not warrant his Ki to drop from a few blows compared to the difference in power between Zarbon and Vegeta. A better example would be Base Zarbon fighting Vegeta. Despite Vegeta landing many blows, it was never noted Zarbon's Ki fell nor did it appear that Zarbon was deeply affected aside from superficial damage which would be applicable to the Gohan and Cell situation. The power advantage Cell had over Goku was not one quite that large. Not even Goku's Ki was stated to have decreased despite Cell landing many blows on Goku and was only stated to have decreased in Ki after unleashing his Kamehameha, and Gohan is even stronger than Goku. So if Goku's Ki did not even decrease from his fight with Cell why would the stronger Gohan's Ki decrease? The anime provides objective evidence on the matter by Kaio stating that Gohan is probably stronger than Goku.

But you just said cell had a power advantage over Gohan meaning his power did increase since before this his couldn't hit Gohan meaning he didnt have a power advantage? Didnt you just yourself admit his power increased?

That is not what I said. Cell's power level against Goku is the same he used against Gohan. Cell admits Gohan is stronger than Goku but not stronger than himself.

You said Cell's "power advantage" over Gohan wasn't... so forth that is saying he had an advantage is it not?
Not stronger than his FP yeah it doesn't really have to mean he is talking about his power at that moment.
Cell was evidently never at the level of power to touch Gohan only after his speed increase did he hurt him, but That advantage thing makes it sound as though his power did increase because he now instead of speed also has a power advantage

Except he never says anything about power. He seems fine with his power advantage over Gohan. Gohan was just too fast for him, so he had to increase his speed.

He's was too fast but when it came to hand to hand combat cell didnt seem to have an advantage there either it could also be because his strength was higher his speed was also.

Are you sure Cell started against Gohan at the same level he'd fought Goku with? At first, he seemed to treat
Gohan with contempt, so maybe his ''true speed'' power up was him using the power he'd used against Goku.
