Keep in mind, co. was already aware of Goku's true strength at that point and knew he would get stronger, yet still thought he would lose.

Ofc they were wrong, but only because Goku had gotten much stronger than they had expected and once he revealed he wasn't even serious, they basically called it quits (Jackie Chun even started to fear for his chances).

They don't know how much Gokuu has gotten stronger. They were flabbergasted by his strength three years ago, and the thought of him far exceeding that is hard for them to believe.

Gokuu being able to easily defeat someone who would've been his match three years ago (Chapa) shows his progress. Much of Chapa's hype only comes from his rep, and while he might've been able to beat Baba arc Gokuu in hand-to-hand combat, he's helpless to a Kamehameha. We've never seen Chapa do an afterimage, either. Baba arc Gokuu beats him.

Chichi surprised him with the speed of her first kick, but the only reason Gokuu's having trouble dodging her mid-air is because he can't move as freely mid-air. Without Mushin, he'd probably have difficulty dodging Chapa mid-air, too.

The only thing putting Chichi above Chapa is the fact she wasn't knocked out by Gokuu's shockwave first. His shockwave fist is obviously stronger than his chop on Chapa.

Not bad, but you are missing one point. Look at the fighter reactions towards Goku after both opponents are finished.

His would be opponents consider Goku (finishing Chi Chi) to be a much higher level than Goku (finishing Chappa).

Actually nah lol, Gokuu purposefully held back on the shockwave fist specifically so it wouldn't knock Chichi out. The shockwave itself didn't hurt Chichi; it was just her head hitting a wall that did.

If he really felt like it, he could've knocked her out with it. So, it's still up in the air who's stronger between Chichi and Chapa.

It wasn't powerful; it was just a quick way of ringing out Chichi. Gokuu wasn't going for a ring-out against Chapa.

Just because an attack is flashier doesn't make it stronger, or has more effort put behind it. He wanted to end the match without touching her.

If anything, the effort only came from holding back to just the right strength so as not to knock Chee Chee out.

Yeah, I don't see it. That shockwave is many levels beyond that simple low effort chop Goku did. We just gotta agree to disagree here.

That doesn't mean the attack is stronger than a chop; it barely even qualifies as an attack, if at all. If Chichi was actually hurt by the shockwave itself, then you'd have a point.
