This should be good.

Just post one cliche thing that you find in the anime/manga and then post another one after other user has post theirs.

The Tsundere archetype (and don't get the wrong idea. I'm not posting in this thread because I like it, b-baka!)

Nakama power/Power of friendship, aka. the laziest deus ex machina in Shonen (or at least a contender to the one I'll post next).

A Shonen Protagonist that is genuinely stupid in a sloppy attempt to take inspiration from Goku. Sure, he was far from being the smartest character, but it was Goku's social skills and knowledge of the world that was limited, not his intelligence.

Characters being revealed to have survived through implausible events or revived through heavily contrived means.

The Dandere archetype: the nice, compassionate, but painfully shy girls. Bonus cliché points if they have big boobs and are a love interest contrasted with the aforementioned Tsundere (example: Hinata and Sakura).

Double-edged sword power ups/transformations that are meant to be a danger to friend and foe alike...that never damage the friend severely, if at all.

The Rival with a near-opposite personality to the Protagonist (bonus points if they're darker and edgier) and starts out stronger than them only to be eventually surpassed.

Harem series that amount to a group of archetypes fawning over a guy or having him solve their problems. Bonus points if it's a guy who's sheepish personality and skinny physique would make it difficult for him to realistically land one of the girls in his harem.

Any anime series in which a lot of the plot relevant events happen in a school setting. Bonus points if said school setting is completely pointless and inconsistent with the series' concept and genre (Code Geass, Angel Beats...).

The "beach episode". Bonus points if needlessly put in at a point in a series with an ongoing plot that damages the series' pacing (*cough*Bleach*cough*).

The "Friendship saves the day!" cliché. Bonus points if it allows the bloody mess of a hero to win against an enemy that outclassed him in every way possible for 99% of the fight.

Shy girl, sassy girl, nerdy socially inadequate protagonist who has a knack for getting dozens of girls.

Traps, particularly if they're more effeminate than the actual female characters or used for comic relief.

If they're minor, "the protagonist doesn't have parents" cliché. Bonus points if they're dead.
