Contradictions between DB and DBZ.

Zenkais? Saiyajins didn't even exist until Z. At least not the full concept. Goku was more or less a weird crazy strong monkey boy..... thing.... Roshi commented that he can't be human, but that was in amazement of his feats/durability more than AT hinting that he was specifically this thing called the Saiyajin.

And considering that AT improvised most of his plot, it's unlikely that he planned that Goku was an alien all along.

Actually Goku being an alien was first stated by Oolong at Pilaf saga.

It was on the back of his mind as a possibility I bet, since the Namekian language was first spoken by Piccolo and Kami in the 23rd long before the concept debuted in the Saiyan arc.

Eh, you could argue zenkai's were present for Goku considering Kuririn's comment on Goku being stronger than he was at the 21rst budokai despite having no apparent training after that.

You could use Galu getting a zenkai large enough to give him a good edge over Piccolo to explain how he's still slightly stronger than him 5 years later despite slacking more.

Didn't Piccolo's power go up to like 329 not too long after they fought Raditz?

Yeah it went from 322 to 329. By comparison weighted Galu was 334 or so and just 8 points higher than unweighted Pikkoyo without weights.
