I recently mentioned that Luffy represents a form of order and Blackbeard represents a form of chaos. I'd like to explain what I meant by this.
It's simple, but we have to look at how it makes sense. At a glance, Luffy seems to be chaotic rather than orderly. He's a pirate, he almost never listens to anybody, he does stupid random things, etc. However, Luffy actually follows what are known as Universal Laws. These include the Laws of Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, and so on.
This form of order is Cosmic Order, so, although Luffy seems to be a rebel, he's actually obeying laws of the universe like a disciplined monk. That is to say, Luffy's quirks are actually masked monk-like characteristics.
It's interesting to note that the "heavens" exist in this story as if they are observing who the next supreme king is, and to be objective, they would be measuring who aligns with cosmic laws.
In this respect, Blackbeard possesses evil monk qualities as opposed to Luffy's good monk qualities, and this is why I suggest that the ancient kingdom's beliefs are dangerous. On one hand, there is peaceful enlightenment (cosmic order) driving the ideology, while on the other it's the chaos of the void (cosmic chaos).
I noticed something similar in One Punch Man and other series, Saitama is a Super Monk in the same way Luffy is a Pirate Monk and in the same way Naruto was a Ninja Monk and Goku was a Martial Artist Monk.
