Could Kaioshin be sensed?

I generally think he cannot, but Vegeta's line could be interpreted from other ways imo:

Chapter: 439 (DBZ 245), P10.2
Context: as Piccolo and Kaioshin's match begins
Vegeta: “We’ll finally know: just how much is his battle power, which we haven’t even been able to estimate?...”

It hasn't to mean Vegeta couldn't sense Kaioshin at all, only that what he saw from him wasn't enough for estimate his battle power.

Babidi and Dabra also say that his ki can't be used to revive Boo, and Goku's never been shown to be able to sense his ki in the manga, so I doubt it.

They say "We can't use Kaioshin's ki or Kibito's, but the three of them there have marvelous energy..." or something to that effect. The context of it seems to imply their ki is different from the mortals they brought. Would make more sense to say Kaioshin and the others are trash if they were too weak like Piccolo and Kuririn.

It has more to do with Kaioshin's ki being incompatible with Boo, like the Potara doesn't working within Boo's body or South Kaioshin's absorption providing a tremendous boost (more than a simple addtion).

It's clear that the Kaioshin absorptions work quite differently. But the fact that actual ki sensors can't tell how powerful he is, and that Kibito is the only one in the manga who is shown to be capable of sensing his ki makes it plausible that his ki cannot be sensed by mortals. (Kibito can sense him straight after returning to life, but Piccolo just assumed he disappeared as far as the manga goes) Which also fits in with Boo being able to absorb damage energy from any mortal but not him or Kibito.

Vegeta just said he could not estimate Kaioshin's power with accuracy, I don't think this necessarily implies he couldn't be sense AT ALL. And this makes sense for Vegeta not be able to tell Kaioshin's battle power, since the fellow didn't do anything until he appeared. Like when Vegeta couldn't say Goku surpassed him until he showed his power against Yakon or like when Vegeta didn't know how much Gohan got weaker until he showed his SSJ2 form in the tournament.

Again, I don't see how it implies Kaioshin couldn't be sensed. It only implies Kaioshin's ki isn't compatible with Boo, like when Goku and Vegeta couldn't kept merged through the Potara inside Boo's body, but the fusion dace (which isn't related to Kaioshin's stuff) worked there just well.

Well I just explained that Kibito could sense Kaioshin's ki even after he had passed out, but Piccolo showed no indication of being able to do the same and assumed he disappeared when Boo did the angry explosion thing. Take that as you will.

Chapter: 445 (DBZ 251), P12.3-5, P13.1
Context: after Goku and co. join up with Kaioshin
Kaioshin: “So you did come. This will be a great help. I might not have been able to win without your power.”
Goku: “…You couldn’t win…against those two [Spopovitch and Yamu]?
Kaioshin: “No…Those two are just being used…by a sly wizard…”

Goku wouldn't ask this shit if he could sense him.

He also had to ask Piccolo if Kaioshin was really that much stronger than himself after he forfeited. It seems that Piccolo was the only one who could sense him.

That too, although the tournament and Babidi's ship are one giant mess.

Well really now, it's blatantly stated that the Z fighters couldn't sense how strong Kaioshin was, so why wouldn't Piccolo speak up if he could?

And before you argue he was suppressed or whatnot, he was already judged to be a fearsome opponent before Vegeta said they couldn't read his battle power. So they clearly aren't going off ki to judge this, it's the lack of ki.

He does speak up. He blatantly states that Kaioshin is stronger than himself. Lol.

@Papasmurf - oh, I miss that part, sorry. That's a good point. But there's also Goku not being able to sense Piccolo's ki (after being beaten by Imperfect Cell) until he went to save Tenshinhan.

@Zoro - I think Goku was just like "WTF, don't tell me you cannot win against that guys", even more when at that point Goku was under the impression Kaioshin > Piccolo.

I don't think Kaioshin could sense either. The evidence for it doesn't seem solid.

Are you saying that Kaioshin can't sense Ki? Or just that he can't be sensed? Because he definitely can sense Ki.
