Saint Seiya - Whilst it was one of the series to establish the Rescue Arc as a common plot point in Jump, there wasn't much done to develop the structure after the Sanctuary Arc, with each arc afterwards just being a repeat of the same plot line.

Praise
Sailor Moon - Whilst now the standard formula of Mahou Shoujo today and even in it's time, being little more than Saint Seiya for girls, it was at least revolutionary in it's field by being the first Mahou Shoujo to be aimed at an older audience than just little girls (unless counting Cutie Honey, though that was a Shonen).

Yu Yu Hakusho - King Enma was a really bad villain when he was introduced IMO.

Praise
Neon Genesis Evangelion - Has a really, really good theme.

The Tatami Galaxy - There was no explanation as to how the protagonist could enter alternate realities.

Praise
Medaka Box - Although the plot is a complete mess, it can at least work as a satire of battle Shonen.

Much better animated, drawn and violence, yes. Better story and character writing on the other hand...not a chance.

Monster - Johan's ability to escape from almost any situation may as well be magic.

Elfen Lied - The concept and premise of the Diclonius had potential to be one of the better takes on an evolution/divergence of humanity if under the control of a more competent writer.

Parasyte - It is better written than it is presented, such as the theme exploration being far better than it's plot and character continuity.

Praise

Tokyo Ghoul - The fast pacing of the first 2 volumes distracted me just long enough to not think too much about it's bottom tier Shonenshit writing until completing them.
