Current 17 vs Current Gohan

I probably would have said Gohan before but now I think it's pretty debatable.

If #17 does anything significant against Hakaishin Mode Toppo, I'd say he wins, otherwise I'd go with Gohan being stronger. #17 seemed to be swatted away by Anilasa far easier than SSG Galu was, whereas Ultimate Gohan is SSB tier.

They are equal in terms of power, but 17 has infinite stamina so he probably wins. Can't see anything that Gohan does damaging 17 in any significant way behind his barrier.

Even assuming PIS, I highly doubt #17 could take a hit from Toppo and even distract him long enough for Gohan to get out of his range whilst having a broken arm if he were only Current SS3 tier.

Yeah, PIS. Roshi took hits from Frost, Base Goku took hits from an unrestrained Jiren, Base Goku trading blows with SS2 Caulifia due to "skill", etc. Feats like that are widely inconsistent, maybe in DBZ you can make an argument like that but in Super where skill, tactics and special abilities are put more emphasis on even when the power gap is immense, distraction feats and the like don't mean much of anything power wise.

Unlike those, however, #17 doesn't have any feats anime-wise to contradict him being around SSG tier. The only thing that comes close is comparing the damage he took from Anilasa to what SSG Goku took, and even that doesn't necessarily place his power as low as his manga self.

Considering how Toppo considered #17's power pathetic whilst he still had some respect for Goku's strength as a SSB, I'd say #17 is below the SSB tier fighters, but likely above SSG Goku.

Toppo not completely swatting him away like a fly would warrant such, not to mention being able to run away from his Hakai mode at all.

Well yes, I do think 17 would be on the low end of that tier in general, but in terms of pure combat he hasn't done much to put himself on Gohan's level imo. He's played more of a supporting role in the fight from what I recall. Toppo's Hakai form not one-shotting him can be explained by Super's idiocy. Toei will always drag fights out unnecccesarily.

I do agree his raw power isn't Gohan's level, but given his feats, he has the durability to take Gohan's hits, PIS or no, and the stamina to outlast Gohan, which would even out the power disadvantage.
