The Kundalini he was using wasn't something he conjured up, it was an astral creature that belonged to Ganishka that Daiba was allowed to use. Without such aid from Ganishka, Daiba is pretty much screwed. Schierke's magic wow'd him and he was huffing that fog, so he's not that special on his own.

He had a bunch of help from Ganishka, so he was cocky and thought he was hot shit. The Emperor was pissed that Daiba lost all of those monsters to a dude with a big sword and a little witch.

The best he could do without help was throw snakes and rats on Rakshas.... which hindered him for like, 30 seconds.
