Devil Fruit Stealing

Do you guys have any theories as to how the Blackbeard pirates steal devil fruits? Obviously we don't know yet, I'd just like to hear some potential thoughts.

I imagine it's to do with Blackbeard's Black Hole sucking them out. How he manages to eat them is another matter altogether though.

I hope he actually uses these powers he steals instead of just having them and barely using them at all like Raoh stealing martial art techniques he only ever used like once in the anime.

It could be that BB implanted some of his abilities in his crew, perhaps creating a miniature version of his Black Hole inside each of their bodies. If assuming the theory of some body mutation causing his unique ability, he may have had one his more more scientifically adept members inject his cells into his crew.

It's probably something as simple as killing a devil fruit user while carrying some sort of fruit so the ability reforms in the closest fruit.

It's probably just blackbeards ability that lets him eat more than one.

Or it could just refer to him being a logia and not being able to turn intangible when hit.

Why would that fact have anything to do with him being able to handle 2 fruits? Blackbeard explained himself that his fruit power is different from other Logias in that it weakens his defense instead of the other way around, but even knowing that his own crew somewhat doubted his survival. While Marco who'd known him before he gained a fruit at all says his body is "different" in a context that doesn't really pertain to BB's first fruit. I'd wager it's something like having two hearts long before I link it to the fact that he has a unique logia (all fruit powers are "unique")

My honest first thought when I saw that was "It's because he's fat."
