Did AT forget how zenkais work in the Namek Saga?

Do you think he forgot that only Saiyans got stronger after every fight? Or that Krillin was not a Saiyan?

Or the Guru power up was still effecting him. I like to think the constant fights was raising his potential.

But is that what AT had in mind? Probably not. I think he just forgot Krillin couldn't get stronger after every fight.

It seems like it's easier to increase one's power after a potential unlock, going by Gohan and Kuririn getting stronger just from a short fight with Ginyu, plus Ultimate Gohan's ridiculous power up in the ToP arc and Piccolo unlocking Orange Piccolo mid-fight among other things.

Inside AT's mind:
Saiyans get zenkais
Saiyans' hair doesn't change
Krillin's hairstyle doesn't change
Krillin gets zenkais
Tenshinhan's hairstyle doesn't change
Tenshinhan gets zenkais (can hold off Semi-Perfect Cell)
Yamcha's hair keeps changing
Yamcha doesn't get zenkais

I think Hector's on to something.

Its horseshit he just had to suddenly make everyone stronger for the final fight, only in universe explanation is that the guru boost is prolonged

The Guru boost was not prolonged and nothing in the plot suggests that. After being powered up, Krillin spent four days taking to Gohan to see Guru; his power level didn't increase one bit during those four days.

The reason why Gohan's power level increased after the boost was because he had Zenkai; as Vegeta revealed to Jeese, Zenkai boosts can be prolonged. Krillin isn't a Saiyan, so there's no reason he should have gotten stronger after fighting Reacoom.

Krillin didn't fight in those four days. Maybe the Guru boost isn't fully activated until the recipient fights.

Do you think Krillin didn't get stronger between Recoome and Freeza? That his PL was below Recoome's? And that he could hurt Freeza just because his kienzan is so overpowered and Vegeta because Vegeta lowered his PL to human levels?

The most undeniable instance of Krillin getting stronger is when he goes from just "over 10k" against Gurd to exceeding Ginyu-in-Goku's ~23k. There's no good explanation for that boost except for Guru boost shenanigans, and then we can surmise that this continues up until Freeza's fight based on what Vegeta says.

In the manga, it was stated that Ginyu's power was "23k and decreasing". Maybe it had already decreased enough for Krillin to put up a fight.

Yeah, nonsense power-ups have always existed. They were more feasible and more easily explained than what's going on nowadays.

A potential unlock could also increase the effectiveness of gains from battle and training. Speculative but it's probably the best explanation we have.
