Of course. They are only talking about Super Saiyan in the ship. AT completely forgets about Super Saiyan 2 for Gohan for a while, it's terrible writing.

The only issue I have with Goku not knowing Vegeta has Super Saiyan 2 is that when Vegeta claims they're both stronger than Gohan, nobody says shit. That would imply SSj Vegeta is stronger than SSj2 Gohan. It's implied Kaioshits forgot about SSj2 Gohan's power, but not Toriyama.

It also depends on how you interpret Vegeta's following statement ''we don't know what happens when Gohan gets mad''. Is it referring to SSJ2?

Vegeta himself was shocked at Goku flashing SSJ2 during Yakon, so it's just :troll writing

Well if I remember correctly Herms said something about Vegeta already expecting Goku to be a SSJ2. But yeah, Vegeta flat out stated him and Goku are now above Gohan and they saw Gohan transforming into SSJ2 at the tournament. Does Goku think Vegeta SSJ > Gohan SSJ2?

I think Vegeta was referring to "something more than just SSJ", seeing how he basically labeled SSJ2 Gohan as trash at the tornament, yet was agnostic about 'enranged Gohan's power'.

Well, later he mentioned how hard was to paralyze Gohan at the tournament:

Chapter: 450 (DBZ 256), P2.5, P3.5
Context: after Vegeta and Goku talk about Dabra not being that great
Kaioshin: “Un-unbelievable. Is this ‘Super Saiyan’ thing really this great?...Come to think of it, it was quite hard to stop Son Gohan from moving after he became a Super Saiyan…And even that might not have been his full power…”

Wow, p, are you back????!!!! I missed you so much man. Are you still on board with Gohan being SSJ2 against Dabra?

That's @Lightsworn
Who? Super Saiyan God? No, he is p123.
I mean Lightworn is the one along with @GokhanDBZfan who argue that Gohan was SS2 against Dabura and @Super Saiyan God believed he was just Ssj since 2 years ago. http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/88/t2053607-super-saiyan-majin-vegeta-vs-dabura/

That's what I mean. Kaioshin forgot until that moment.

To sum up, Goku's shock expression after Vegeta become SSJ2 suggestes the former didn't know about the latter having the form. But there's still Vegeta outright stating him and Goku are stronger than SSJ2 Budokai Gohan, which implies Goku already knew about Vegeta's SSJ2 form.

Well his later comments implies he did not. It would make Gohan a fool for not realizing, but what can we do?

Oh, in reality Gohan said Goku and Vegeta are fighting in a form that further surpass the Super Saiyan. There's people who like to interpret it as Gohan saying Goku and Majin Vegeta are "mid-high SSJ2 tier", where he and Dabra were only "low SSJ2 tier".
