Did Law know Shanks would stop la guerra del Marineford

He rocked up to Marineford as a relative weakling. He was about as strong as Luffy. Did he believe he could handle Marineford? He couldn't have, considering he must've known even Doflamingo is way stronger than him.

So did he take a huge risk for Luffy? Or did he know Shanks was on the way?
