He must have when Freeza started to kill the Namekians. If he didn't, perfect timing would be when Guru wanted him to assist Vegeta and the others against the Ginyu Force or before Freeza confront them.

Could go either way. Kuririn's statements seemed to suggest he was naturally a prodigy amongst the Namekians, plus him having less dormant power than a human despite the status quo of Saiyan >>> Namekian >> Human as far as potential goes would seem weird. However, there's also the question of why wouldn't Saichoro unlock his potential to face Freeza if not when he was already handing out power ups for everyone else like a whore handing out handjobs at a bukkake. If you really wanted to make assumptions to fit everything together, I guess you could say that he got his potential unlocked offscreen in between Kuririn getting the treatment and bringing Gohan to the house and he didn't get the chance to reap it's benefits as Kuririn and Gohan did by the time of the Freeza fight due to less time, but that's a stretch for something given no evidence.

I like to headcanon it as Nail being too proud to accept such a cheap power up :troll

Still not proud enough not to offer an even cheaper power up to Big Green and by extension himself. :manabu2

Pikkoyo had to sacrifice the privacy of his own mind while he was still full antihero mode :manabu

The Super Holy Water was even cheaper. Galu likes handouts.

It seems to be implied that he did.

It was never proven that Krillin's power ever surpassed Nail's. Actually, I have used that as an argument for Krillin's PL not going past 25k.

There's that too. Did Kuririn really ever surpass Nail? To play Devil's advocate, it's illogical that he would surpass a Namekian who presumably had his potential unlocked, and he considered the Ginyus a power he could never reach.

He'd never be viewed as helpful against Freeza by Vegeta if that were the case if he didn't at least surpass Ginyu. The Kienzan argument isn't valid either when Vegeta has already been shown to use a similar technique.

It's not about the kienzan only, it's about being a distraction in general. He did help Goku when he was making the Genki Dama, and he didn't even use a Kienzan.

Though Vegeta does say they can win together because Kuririn and Gohan are growing stronger...

The context of the fight is completely different though. When he fought Vegeta, Kuririn was knocked away and presumed defeated by Vegeta until Yajirobe made him aware of the Earthling's presence. Not only can Vegeta not count on Kuririn surviving even the lightest attack in this battle, but he wouldn't have the element of surprise either.

But Freeza said Goku was the only one who could beat Ginyu. :troll

Vegeta noted Krillin's improvement on Earth, but still considered him far too weak to be a match for him. This was close to 30k Vegeta.

To go from that to believing Krillin could be useful against Freeza implies a gigantic increase. There's no way he'd be weaker than Nail and be considered useful.

I always assumed Nail had his dormant power unlocked well before the Freeza saga, but I could easily see it happening during that time.

Nail only just getting it unlocked after Freeza invaded and thus not having had the opportunity to further draw out his power thru battles like Krillin and Gohan makes sense.
