Did Super Purposely Retcon Tarble

So that Cabba can exist? I see a lot of similarities between them except that Cabba is not related to Vegeta but as a student-mentor relationship. I think they ignore Tarble's existence just for Cabba.

Tarble was only in the movie but he sucked, so good riddence.

Tarble is never mentioned in the manga, so he likely isn't canon in that continuity. The anime mentions him, but makes it clear that it's hard to get in touch with him as a reason for him never being part of the plot, which makes sense when he's a bland character who's only role was to be a lesser version of the good guy in distress role that Future Trunks and Shin already played to a greater extent and is now completely redundant when Cabba is just a power-relevant version of him.

I guess if he was mentioned in the new movie, he probably will be canon to the manga as well. I doubt the anime will be reproducing the film's events when it's meant to be part of their continuity with no reason to alter it to fit like with BoG and FnF, so I doubt that detail will be changed.
