Do you subscribe to suppression or two base theory for the saiyans?

Throughout Dragonball, the Saiyan's can suppress their power levels to almost zero, F. Trunks suppressed his to 5. But in super, we have seen Goku in his base form fight against Frieza in FnF, and in the latest arc ToP. We also have seen the same Goku in base have problems fighting against lower level fighters. Also, if you consider the Intro to super, we see Goku fighting against Jireen in his base.

If Toei is doing is for tension (having base Goku struggle against weaker opponents), then how does that factor in the equation of power scaling?

Which theory do you subscribe to?

The base is maybe 60% of the Saiyan's maximum power. If SSJ was 50x and ssb 15000x like the internet said Goku would suffer instant death syndrome.

Remember, people have a hard time believing Frieza was "only" 50% when he survived the spirit bomb despite Frieza being able to survive an exploding planet after being nearly killed twice.

The "Two Bases" or "Saiyan Beyond God" theory got debunked as soon as the chapter where Goku fought Future Trunks was released.

Base Goku's fluctuating feats in Super aren't anything new when comparing how Base Saiyan feats were in filler and movies of Z (eg. Gohan VS Dabura, M6, M7, M11 and M12). Best option is to just take into account the battles that occur in both the anime and manga as valid (VS Botamo, Frost, Hit and Future Trunks), making Goku's strength a lot more consistent.

Him using SSB beforehand implies the base form he used at the end was some kind of power up.

Goku has a habit of holding back even Vegeta said this therefore we shouldn't take anything seriously on Base Goku's fights. Also this is Toei. :toei

We should at least take his fights against 3rd form Frost and Initial Hit seriously, considering they play out the same in the manga too. The rest of them are up for debate though.

Even the anime clearly states that Goku and Vegeta barely reached the god level so in other words, they're not strong as SSjinG on their base form.
