Do you think Team Rocket ruined the show?

I don't know about nowadays, i only watched the first 3-4 seasons, many years ago. So, at least back then, almost all episodes were about
team rocket doing stupid things. Even at the very few episodes that showed Ash battling some serious trainer, Team Rocket would appear
and interrupt the battle, taking away even that little fun the show could provide if those battles went on. More than half of the 1st generation's
eight gym leaders battles began great and turned to shit when Team Rocket showed up to interrupt them and turn those episodes as well
into another boring humiliation of two punks and a cat.

Pokemon would've found some other way to be extremely repetitive and pointless either way. They're basically doing that every season where Ash only catches a handful of Pokemon, hardly any of which actually evolve and feasibly get stronger, then loses the league again and again, not to mention even the episodes where the Rockets don't do much end up becoming fill-in-the-blanks level of predictability.

I don't even know what to think of them, you have to have some type of conflict otherwise it'd get boring. I just started watching X & Y and surprisingly I'm having the most fun with a Pokémon series since maybe Johto but I am getting sick of seeing Team Rocket all of the time doing some stupid stunt to try and jack Pikachu or whatever else they deem worth it. I honestly liked seeing different members of Team Rocket every now and then and different crime organizations whenever we did more than seeing Team Rocket all the time. It does get annoying as Ash & Co. play idiot ball whenever they're in disguise. Partially why I preferred Yugioh over Pokémon. Yugioh may be repetitive with some things but at least they switch up their characters/stories every few years.

You should watch the Black & White season. The trio gets much less screentime, go on actual missions and are actually serious threats. Sadly, after that season they go back to being annoying screen-hogging comic relief bad guys.

I heard that Black and White had the lowest ratings of any Pokemon season, which is why they tried to revisit the formula even more and essentially copy everything they did in Hoenn.

Yeah I heard they didn't too good with ratings too. I personally thought Black and White was one of the better seasons. Every season after Johto was way too filler heavy and honestly even the gym battles didn't stand out as anything spectacular for me. I mean I loved the Pokémon contests though, but by Sinnoh even they lost their spark. Black and White from what I have seen doesn't seem to have as much filler and actually did something right with TR. I haven't even watched XY but I can tell just from a few clips and summaries that it's awful.

I heard a lot of the complaints were coming from how badly reset he was in the BW season, but then I'm like, whatever, none of the seasons before it set the bar high for battles or Ash's training skill, not to mention he already reset 4 times before that whenever he left for some new region, and lost every league he ever fought in without getting to the finals. If people are expecting him to catch Groudon and split the Earth in half or something they're clearly watching the wrong show. Ash has sucked since day 1 and will keep sucking so he can prolong the show further.

I think the show ruined itself honestly. Team Rocket provided a nice balance of comedy relief and were a good threat relative to the light hearted nature of the show. Plus they had they're own moments of development which I enjoyed.

They've turned the scale up to 11 with Serena who's pretty much well known and like JUST because her crush on Ash is canon opposed to implied with Misty. Although I admittedly do like Serena more than any other girl that's traveled with Ash.

They had some good backstory - relatively speaking ofc - but they did come at annoying times. plz no sex joke.

Also the woman had big bazungos in that one ep.

Ash is like 10. Can't be with any girl without it being loli-shota. Either be satisfied or change your avi to kid Goku with a power pole. Was considering saying that that's not a euphemism but lol wonder if that's why COH had it as his avi.

Ash should be like 14 at VERY least. I like Serena having some history with Ash prior to actually traveling with him and her fawning over Ash moments are admittedly pretty cute but even without that I still really like her, there's something about her that's very charming when I felt Ash's female traveling companions steadily got worse as time went on. Serena has a special trait about her that makes me put her above Misty even.
