But the criteria for being "pure of heart" enough to ride it is unclear (I asked about this in the other topic). Goku killed Tambourine but could still ride the Nimbus later - could he have ridden it the same chapter he killed Tambourine? Can you lose the ability for a short time due to your mental state and then regain it. Gohan likewise rides it despite killing enemies. Why can't Krillin ride it? Is it because of his sexual interest? Or because of his dishonesty (like with the rock search)?

This brings-up a good question: was Muten-Roshi-sama ever able to ride it? If not, why did Karin give that to him? Was Muten-Roshi-sama ever pure then?

I don’t think the “time-travel” thing happened in the manga, so maybe he wasn’t perverted then.

Roshi probably could at first but maybe once he isolated himself with nobody else but a turtle he found out what lust is. Turtle is a bad influence.

Karin implies Roshi tried to take the "magic" water illegitimately, so I don't think he was ever pure. Karin gave it to him hoping he'd be able to ride it someday.
