Everyone at the 21st Tenkaichi-Budokai surpassed Beginning of DragonBall Goku? I mean the main-tournament, not counting the qualifying matches.

I'd say so. Other than maybe Ran-Fan.

Agreed. Giran certainly did. Yamcha did as he wasn't far off to begin with. Krillin did. Namu did. Roshi did. Bacterian is unclear.

Bacterian's fight seems kind-of like a gimmick fight, so not sure either. Yamcha did say he heard he had fearsome strength or something. Not much that can really help us tell whether Bacterian is above or not.

Didn't Master Roshi say Goku and Kuririn needed to train to even think of qualifying for the tournament? That could mean everyone in the main-tournament surpassed him.

Bacterain was praised by Yamch for his physical strength and remained conscious from a serious kick by Krillin that Jackie Chun himself complimented. I'd say he's surpassed BoDB Goku.

So yeah... everyone in the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai except Ranfan surpasses BoDB Goku.

Yeah, perhaps that situation is similar to Yamcha knowing about Monster Carrot - even though the statements are clearly different. I'll stand by that I'm indifferent on Bacterian.

Rishi could have just said that to make them want to train harder.

What did Yamcha do to the Mummy? All I recall is him landing a kick that the Mummy easily tanked.

Yeah, her feats seemed too gag-y to take seriously (to me anyway).

The mummy's performance against Yamcha was enough that Roshi thought the old Goku would be defeated, and Yamcha dodged a bunch of kicks and punches from him. Even after he decided to finish him it took 3 hits to take Yamcha down.

I don't think he landed any kicks. He did trip him off the arena though.

He seems to be genuinely mad after Yamcha tried to push him off the ledge, so while I agree he wasn't all-out he probably was off his fuck around mode at that point imo.

Compared to Jackie-Chun (who's weaker than Mummy unless he feels like it ) blowing Yamcha off the arena while also fucking around, Yamcha's feats are a lot better here.

Nobody will take Yamcha seriously.

I think even the temple bullies are >> DB Goku going by Kuririn fearing them so much after fighting pre-training Goku (albeit tailless). So all the finalists are above shit tier Goku imo.
