Do you watch sports-series for the character-drama or for the matches?

Good question, right?!

Maybe when I was younger I was interested in if the protagonist (& his team could win), but maybe later-on the matches themselves aren’t as important (or don’t even care for the sport) & it’s about the drama & growth or what-ever of the protagonist.

So you don’t care as much about the matches? There are some who might be like enough with the talking just get to the match already (I’m not one of them).
No I like the matches. The matches we get to see what works, see MADAO bloom and get the excitement that makes us go :brother

I like the matches. If they took the matches out it wouldn't be as good. It would just be Yawara @Mystic

I learnt that a lot of the sports anime viewership is female fans who watch for the hot guy characters. I was on a Brazilian anime forum and some guy kept saying about new sports anime that it's another one for the fujoshi. With Free! it was obvious, but I didn't think of it for Haikyuu, SD or others.

Doesn't really apply to some old sports anime where the guys don't look smexy mwahahahaha xD add me on myspace

Isn’t there that one rival character in SD that is popular with females (in-universe)?

But yeah, I get you for sure. You mean like you can see their efforts realised when it comes to the matches and they can finally show how much they’ve improved.

Probably. The black-haired guy. Sato-kun (possibly not his name, but he looks like one). Or Sakamoto-kun? Fujiwara-chan?

I think Haikyuu's rival is popular like that too. Also black-haired and tall.

No matter how many Gin-Tama videos I don’t think I’ll ever care for that series, unless some-thing happens so yeah.
