I remember the Budokai Tenkaichi 1 what-ifs where they had the villains (Bojack, Broly, Cooler, and Mecha Freeza) team up and take on the Z-Warriors. Mecha Freeza fights Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Bojack fights Ultimate Gohan, Broly fights Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, Cooler fights Gogeta, Baby and Super #17 fights Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta.
It was pretty enjoyable seeing the game touch on the concept of the a villain team-up. After defeating the Z-Warriors, the villains fight over who's going to be #1.
In the what-if called "The True Ultimate Android", it has Cell fighting all of the Z-Warriors. Dr. Gero is actually alive in this story. Cell wiped out Super Saiyan 2 Gohan with the Genki-Dama and Gero's goal was accomplished. Despite the victory, Gero still wanted to create a more powerful Android, so when Dabra and Boo appeared, Gero looked to obtain samples from them.
In the what-if called "The Revenge of the Saiyans", the Saiyans (Vegeta, Nappa, Raditz, Bardock) and a Saibaman go to Namek to take Freeza and his forces down for good. Plays out like the Manga to an extent. Vegeta finds Zarbon, stomps him, and then Zarbon gets away. A bit later, Vegeta comes across Dodoria and takes him down. Once Zarbon starts feeling brave again, he locates Vegeta, turns into his Monster form, and goes on to lose after a tough battle. All of the Saiyans attack Freeza and manage to weaken him. This gives Vegeta the perfect opening to obliterate him with a Galick Ho. Now with Freeza gone, Vegeta is ready to rule the universe as the strongest.
The Zarbon what-if from Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is one of my favs. He wishes for eternal youth but ends up getting caught in the destruction of Namek. Guess his youthful looks couldn't save him.
In Piccolo's what-if in Supersonic Warriors, to truly reach his true power, he wishes Piccolo Daimao back. Piccolo goes on to defeat him and then assimilates him to gain enough power to challenge Super Boo.
As you can tell from this post, I love what-ifs.
