Yes. What I'm saying is that 2nd Punch Jackie is his real speed, it is his real power, everything else is just laziness.

Real Roshi > Lazy Roshi / Yamcha WFF / Krillen

That's what I'm saying.

But Lazy Roshi is already way stronger than Yamcha, like a Goku vs Ginyus type of gap. That'd make the WFF multiplier way too big.

Lazy Roshi can only be lazy because of Real Roshi's power. If another character had the equal power level to Lazy Roshi, he wouldn't be able to pull off those feats.

A 100 guy using 80 percent effort looks much different than an 80 guy using 100 percent effort. That's the point.

Hmm, so withheld points basically huh?

Dunno if I agree. Does Goku seem like he is using less effort than he would at 100%?

What about Piccolo here?

You can still use a great deal of effort even if you are not at full power.

Roshi is 100, Yamcha is 60 (or something)

Yamcha attacks, Roshi dodges with ease, someone weaker could replicate the feat but it'd be hard for them

Yamcha uses WFF, Roshi wakes up a bit to dodge this one since it's a bit faster

WFF is over, Roshi is chillin again and Yamcha backs the fuck off

Fight with Krillin starts and Roshi's chillin so he's caught a bit off guard at Krillin's speed, but regains composure quickly and retaliates, knocks Krillin on his ass. Krillin gets up and then the two really go at it.

Something like that, anyway. I don't fight.

ahill, those examples are different. Roshi is at level x and is using less than x. Goku and Piccolo are at x and are using x, but can power up beyond x if they so desire. This is where Dragon Ball diverges from real life because in real life you don't power up. You would have to think of Goku and Piccolo using full effort as if that were their full strength. It's not comparable to Roshi here.

Fair enough. So Roshi is more like an effort thing here, similar to Nappa?

But wouldn't that make the gap between initial Roshi and Yamcha smaller? Since Roshi is nonchalant not because he is way stronger but because he is using a level of power lower than his max. Is that alright?

Oh, another thing. How about Roshi vs Tenshinhan at the 22nd Budokai then? Roshi should be an 100 but was using like 80 (Ten said he didn't use FP), but yet we clearly saw Roshi using effort against Tenshinhan.

Yea, he can be stronger. Bear Bandit is clearly made more of a big deal about, but the dino bird can be like 18 or so. Maybe 17.5
