I'm talking about the pre DBZ, is there a Kai version of it? If yes, then how many episodes are there?

Not that I'm aware of but I would like that cause DB had more annoying filler than Z had.

Yeah, I'm planning to watch DB for a very long time now but it has over 150+ episodes hence I always delayed watching it.

IIRC, someone on Kanz did a fan made version of Kaio for DB. I can't find the link at work though.

Yeah. Overall there isn't much need for a Kai version of the original series due to light hearted, comedic nature making a fast pace less necessary than in Z, the latter of which has far more marketability due to it's superior popularity worldwide (look at the amount of DBZ games compared to DB games).

That, and to me, the DB filler seemed at least more appropriate than most Z filler, minus contradictive ones like Goku VS Mutaito.

You could just skip the filler episodes, though the ones during the Baba Arc/22nd TB timeskip due feel like enough of a natural progression to still watch them imo.

If the show is compelling to watch, you should have no problem with boredom.

Off the top of my head, the 100% filler episodes are:

- Goku helping Namu's village out after the 21st TB.
- Any of the events involving the Red Ribbon Army prior to Goku fighting Silver.
- The episode with Hasky.
- Anything in between Goku leaving to train for the 22nd TB after reviving Bora and the 22nd TB itself.
- Goku fighting an illusion of Roshi when searching for the Choshinsui (might've had some canon stuff spliced in between though)
- Anything in between Goku starting his training with Kami and the 23rd TB beginning.
- Anything after Goku wins the 23rd TB.

Can't remember the episode numbers off-hand though.

Fuckin Cadaver man, young blood is like the fuckin' guru around here for all things anime. I swear, sometimes I hate talking to this dude cause he makes me feel like an idiot cause I just don't have the time or desire to educate myself on all this stuff or go looking shit up.

Cadaver for president! :ladd

No need for a Kai-ified version. The anime-original stuff in the series is good and a lot of them don't feel like filler at-all. Like Goku and Yajirobe's quest for the Super-God-Water much kewler than what supposedly happened in the manga, which was just handing the water over to him.

Agreed. Whilst I love how fast paced the manga is in comparison, the anime did make areas such as Goku's training for the 22nd TB and the quest for the Choshinsui a lot more meaningful. The latter especially, seeing as how in the manga it comes off as just a quick contrivance.

I know but that Red-Ribbon Arc bored the hell out of me and stopped watching it after Goku defeated Tao. So I just want to know what I should avoid that are unimportant aka filler episodes.

If those fillers bother you so much, then just read the manga.

I personally really liked the Dragon Ball filler (even if it's inconsistent like Goku vs Mutaito) and showing Goku training for the 22nd and 23rd Budokai makes it all WAY more interesting imo. Like Goku's training with Popo, I found it amazing how Goku seemed like a noob, not mastering the "seeing without the eyes", which makes himself from the 23rd Budokai look like a God, kind of "wow, this is the Goku who supposedly mastered what Popo had to teach him and he didn't could do before, how impressive may he look like now". Goku's 'adult' first appearence was also cool as hell in the anime, with all that "who is this guy?" and the theme song which fits just fine with a series that valorizes martial arts... I really did love it and the fillers gave something else for DB that I personally felt the manga lacked.

Reading manga sucks. What's entertaining about that? I'd rather read some sex stories in the internet than reading something that I can just watch its anime version. What I'm talking about filler arc like kinda the fake-Namek stuffs, Gohan's journey in 6 months, pre CG fillers etc.

I'm sure that are anime websites out there that let you know which DB episodes are fillers and which aren't. Besides that, read the manga first and if a episode is not presented in any chapters, then skips it.

Red-Ribbon-Army I think is usually considered by fans to be kind-of weird. If you're one of those people that doesn't like DragonBall, because of DragonBall Z, then you can probably skip all of it until Piccolo-Daimao, but that's if you are one of those people. :shin :shin :shin
