'Dragon Ball Super' Teases Moro's Full Power

Dragon Ball Super has started an exciting new arc over on the manga side, and with it we've gotten a fearsome new villain, who may be the most dangerous foe that Goku and Vegeta have faced yet!

In the latest issue, "Planet-Eater Moro" and his cohort are speeding toward the hidden location of New Namek, where Moro can sense the life energy of the Namekians. The evil sorcerer's accomplice knows what kind of wish-granting power the Namekian Dragon Balls have, and Moro intends to use at least one of those three wishes for his own nefarious ends.

When Moro gets to New Namek, he finds that Goku and Vegeta have arrived there ahead of him, and are not going to let him take the Dragon Balls without a fight. A fight is what of course ensues, with Vegeta going at the ancient Moro head-on. However, Moro revels several levels of power that could prove to be more than our Saiyan heroes can handle!

As Vegeta quickly learns, Moro is much more than the feeble old goat he appears to be. Even after ten million years in a Galactic Patrol prison, Moro is so fast and agile that Vegeta can't even land a blow on him in his base and Super Saiyan forms. As Vegeta powers up to Super Saiyan God and finally begins tagging Moro, the villain discards his robes to reveal a long and limber body with taut physique. If that true form reveal wasn't enough, Moro teases Vegeta with an ominous warning: he has much more power to reveal.

That power seems to be coming in the form of magic. As the prelude to the "Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc" revealed, Moro was a cosmic-level threat ten million years ago, due to the intense power of his magic, which he fed by absorbing the life forces of planets and their inhabitants. It took Supreme Kai ruler Daikaioh sacrificing most of his godly ki to seal Moro's magic away back then, but that left Daikaioh de-powered, meaning he's not an option to solve the problem again - even if the Galactic Patrol can separate Daikaioh and Majin Buu from their longtime fusion.

The implication that's been building is that Goku and Vegeta may have to sacrifice their Super Saiyan God powers to do what Daikaioh once did for the universe. But first, we have a sneaking suspicion that we're going to see the full might of Moro's life-absorbing abilities and subsequent evil magic in effect!

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is out now. Dragon Ball Super currently airs its English dub on Adult Swim during the Toonami block Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m. It is also available to stream on Funimation and Amazon Video. The Japanese language release is available to stream on FunimationNOW, VRV, and Crunchyroll.

...so that's how they get to the end of Z and have the powerscale make some semblance of sense? Goku and Vegeta sacrifice their godly power to stop Moro?

I'm alright with that, I guess. It's better than some other theories.

To me Vegeta/Goku scarificing their God Ki would be the dumbest move in the series ever.

It would be a big development for them, sacrificing a buttload of their power in order to save the cosmos rather than simply getting stronger and punching the threat to death.

But if Toyotaro did go this route, that would mean the likes of Gohan, 17, and possibly Piccolo would be leagues ahead of them, which makes no sense except for Gohan.

It wouldn't make sense even for Gohan.
Even without GodKi, Goku & Vegeta are still extremely powerful & can be scaled back up towards their SuperSaiyan Blue PowerLevels.

But I strongly disagree with them losing GodKi would be a big development, it would be a huge step backwards & limit the character potential & possibilities of the series itself.

The series would either have to scale back or scale ridiculously forward just to keep up with already established powerful characters like Golden Frieza, Jiren, Toppo, etc.

I do believe it'd be a big character moment for them. Think about their entire mission. All they've been doing this whole series is getting stronger, stronger, stronger. Goku especially has continuously wanted to get more power to fight stronger enemies. They've sacrificed their bodies, yes, but they've never sacrificed their ideals (well, Vegeta has to an extent). Facing a situation where it's either get more power eventually and risk the cosmos being destroyed, or give up some of that power they've chased to solve the situation right now and save countless innocent lives, sounds compelling to me.

That would just be DragonBall Super's message of the TournamentOfPower all over again.
They've had the oppertunity for either a wish of greatness or sacrificing that chance to save countless worlds, so them sacrificing GodKi wouldn't necessarily be a sacrifice of their ideals.
It would be more of the same selflessness from the characters.

Although IF they did give up GodKi there's nothing stopping them from regaining that ground even without GodKi.
But my point is they don't need to permanently lose GodKi or demish power wise just to develop them as characters.
That just limits them on the grounds of power for a bit & makes their fights that much harder.

If profound moments are what's needed then develop them as fathers, husbands, martial artists not brawlers, strategists.
Or better yet resurrect the planet vegeta with the entire Saiyan race bent on conquering worlds & leave it up to Goku & Vegeta to decide the fate of the entire Saiyan race.

Whatever the ideas are i'm simply not in favor of dwarfing them power wise.

It'd be incredibly convenient and disappointing that Goku and Vegeta's achievements are all reverted to null. However, it doesn't make much sense considering Freeza would still have his golden form, and could easily obliterate Goku and Vegeta if they no longer have God Ki.
