Dragon Team Gap vs 1st Form/Final Form Freeza

Gohan and Krillen are seen to be capable of helping out against 1st Form Freeza, yet Piccolo and Gohan are seen as being incapable of doing anything to help out against Final Form Freeza.

This should indicate that Vegeta and Freeza are further away from Gohan and Piccolo then they were against Gohan and Krillen.

I think I agree with this post. Vegeta and Gohan were confident on defeating 1st form Freeza if they were to team up with Krillin against Freeza thinking that three ants can't oppose to one dinosaur (analogy-wise, of course), therefore we have 2 statements of the team winning against 1 statement of Freeza (who was constantly misjudging them, but knows his capabilities far better than them).

Freeza transforming isn't neccesarily evidence of the team superiority of course and was just to respond Vegeta's request, but nothing really implies that Freeza was suppressed in his 1st form against Vegeta and Freeza was undeniably stronger than Vegeta. Nobody on the team could've actually helped Vegeta against 4th form Freeza.
