There was no way for Goku to get stronger then he previously was or for stronger guys to pop up, except by introducing Beerus, a God or by giving Goku a new transformation. During the 7 year break the fighters barely improved. Goku also says that the only way to get stronger is to merge with Vegeta because training was irrelevant.

So we're right back to where we started. The only way for the characters to continue to improve after the Boo Saga is by utilizing more transformations. It is not arbitrary at all and is heavily implied within Super and the Manga.

I advise that you learn what canon means before you try using it in a debate. Dragon Ball has no defined canon.

Goku did a lot better than Gohan did against Beerus. Beerus even compares Rage Vegeta to Goku, not Gohan

Beers was toying with all of the Zet Senshi. It's not a fair comparison. And again, this is Super. Nothing says or implies Z Goku = Super Goku.

Freeza > Base Goku is a fact, so he can't be much, if at all different.

Rewatch Beerus "sensing" Goku in DBS, nigga doesn't know how to sense ki. Feats > Statements anyway.

Training gains are not static. I could give examples if you wish, but I'm sure this is something you already know.

Because Beers was an immediate threat. Goku wouldn't have weeks/months/years to train because Beers was already on Earth.

How is it obvious if it's never defined by the author or the other head of the franchise, Toei?

What? What does "Super fair comparison" even mean? What I said was unfair was comparing performances against Beers since he was toying. It's impossible to prove that he had a consistent level and it's clearly contradicted by #18, Tenshinhan, and Bulma living his hits. Unless you're going to say Bulma = Ultimate Gohan now.

Again, nothing says or implies Z Goku = Super Goku, so Beers' comparison means nothing regarding Boo arc Goku, who's stated to be weaker than Evil Boo multiple times. A direct statement, I might add. Beers never even directly says Goku > Gohan while Goku directly says Boo > himself.
